On October 5, 1956, the film “The Ten Commandments” was released. It was about the story of Moses and how God led him to take God’s people to the Promised Land.
It’s highlight was the phenomenal parting of the Red Sea. Back then, they didn’t have Computer Graphics (CG), modern filming technology, digital effects and all the visual wonders that make filmmaking so much more riveting. Despite all that, this movie was top grosser. The parting of the Red Sea and the story of Moses became better known to the rest of the world.
This morning, I read Exodus 14 where this story was partly based on. The written word is just as gripping: over a million Israelites liberated by God from slavery and oppression. So they can embark on a fascinating journey to the land of milk and honey. Verse 14 stood out: “The LORD shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.” I claim this too.
We all have our Red Sea obstacle in this life.
We all face challenging blockades that try our faith and make us question our belief in God.
My Red Sea is Stage 4 Breast Cancer. In this healing journey God has taken me to breathtaking peaks and captivating valleys, many miraculous moments and relaxing places of tranquil rest.
Yesterday, I visited with Dr. Sahay. She agreed with the second opinion of Dr. Smerage of UofM in Ann Arbor, MI. I can replace chemo, which I’ve stopped doing since 8.21.21, with hormonal therapies. Her only caveat: if it doesn’t work to heal my one lung spot, we’ll sit down again and explore other options.
I’m not even sure if this is what God wants me to do. Please pray with me for the right path.
Meantime, it’s a special time of the year.
Merry Christmas my wonderful family, friends and prayer warriors. Easy on the sweets but lavish on love, squeeze and spoil those adorable grandkids over and over.
Rejoice and worship the Reason for the season. Jesus came to this planet 2000+ years ago. He made the ultimate sacrifice, lived, died, buried and rose again so He can be our Saviour. Celebrate that truth. Don’t let the distractions of the holidays deter you from inviting Him into your heart, if you’ve never done it. The Saviour came. He wants to save you today.
God loves you and me.
