Whenever I travel to the Philippines, I indulge on family, friends and the local food.
Someone asked me a few days ago what a cancer patient should eat. I will not speak for others, only for myself.
My preferred food firstly, belongs to the Biblical diet as clearly listed in Leviticus 11. That’s why I order Kosher meals from the airline, whenever that option is available. There’s no extra fee for it, the portion is plenty and you get served ahead of everyone else.
Secondly, when I was at the height of my cancer torment, I went Vegan for at least one year. There’s a scientific reason for shunning meat. I was giving my hardworking pancreas a break. The digestive enzymes that it makes can be freed and used by the body for other healing tasks.
These days, I’m no longer Vegan and I do 80/20 of produce/meat. Of course, the produce has to be pesticide-free and the meat has to be grass-fed, pasture-raised, cage-free and as organic as possible.
It’s really worth it. People wonder why despite a strict diet I still got cancer.
It’s still a mystery to me but I have my clues:
- I’ve not always been a healthy eater;
- Cancer is not only caused by one’s diet; and
- God has both reason and purpose for my cancer
My family doctor (Zimmer) said: “Don’t underestimate the help from your diet. It’s one of the reasons why you are handling and responding to your treatments very well”.
Someday, all my questions will be answered, all the mysteries will be unveiled and cancer itself will not even be an issue in any way, shape or form.
Won’t that be the day!!!
