As some of you may have known, our mama, Maria, was called home to glory last November 8, 2022 after almost 7 years of battling breast cancer. She was 65.
When she was still alive, she made it known to us, her children, that she wanted to write a book which will tell her story. This blog is part of that writing journey, but mama being mama, she dreamt of bigger things, specifically, having her book published.
She got to writing down some things here and there; she already had chapters, some titles she considered, and even possible publishers. Some of the blog entries here would have been part of her book.
Unfortunately, she was not able to follow through on her plans. She did, however, leave us a trove of her precious writings, including devotionals, journals, prayers… She had faithfully and diligently journaled for over 20 years, and we are grateful she left us so much of herself through her writings.
We don’t know if we will ever get to finish what she started. But, what we know is that we want to honor her memory by continuing to write on this blog things she herself wrote, and also our memories of her, which we hope will bless others who are also going through terminal illness. After all, that was her ultimate goal. She wanted to share the hope she has in Jesus. It is with this same hope we know for certain we will see her again.
